Traveling to Cancún in Mexico is a perfect option if you are looking for water sports activities. Close to this paradise, in the Yucatan Peninsula, there are places like Tulum, Isla Mujeres, Holbox, Bacalar, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and many more in the Riviera Maya, which would be a big mistake to travel without a bathing suit, but about all without a camera to capture all the shades of blue you’ll see.
Beaches are the first thing you think about when you think of Cancun. The image of the turquoise blue sea, the soft white sand on the feet, and the sky completely clear. If you expect this when visiting Cancun and the Riviera Maya, you will not be disappointed.
Quintana Roo hosts under its waters a coral reef that runs almost all its coast. There are many places throughout the state to snorkel or dive where you can marvel at its beauty. One of them, which with a bit of creativity and innovation, has become a must-see for sea lovers is the Underwater Museum.
The lagoon that we are sure that all visitors to Cancun will know is the Nichupté lagoon in the hotel zone of this beautiful city. There are many points to admire the lagoon. Three of our favorites are Tajamar Malecon in Cancun, Plaza La Isla, and the picturesque Tower of Cancun.
It is widespread to see mangrove areas in Quintana Roo. It is one of the most important ecosystems for our state. Along several rivers, lagoons, and bays, you can admire the branches that take root at the bottom of the water. But be careful! Swamp and mangrove areas are the preferred habitat for crocodiles. It is better to stay away from here.
If you are a water lover, do not hesitate to visit Cancun! Join your whole family, pack your swimsuit, and enjoy a vacation in the Riviera Maya.
